What It Is

Somewhere for them to land.

Every one of these little films is the same walk home — a small companion climbing the cloud steps, riding the long train through the evening sky, watching the world go by at the window, and arriving at a house where the lights are always on.

A tribute film is that walk home, made for your companion. We paint them from the photo you send: their breed, their size, the colour of their coat — and whatever they were wearing. The red collar. The little bell. The name tag that jingled when they ran to the door. Those details come straight off your photo, and they're what makes the film theirs and no one else's.

Their name goes on the gold plate by the front door, where the rainbow path ends.

How One Is Made

One photograph is all we need.

This is a film we made for Bea Bea, a Jack Russell — start to finish, beginning with the photo their family sent us.

Their name goes on the door. Whatever you type into the form is what we engrave — spelled exactly the way you spell it. It's the one thing we check twice.

Bea Bea's film was made in the spirit of that photograph, not as a copy of their face. That's deliberate — almost-their-face is worse than not their face — and it's the same for every film we make.

Before you ask

Will it really look like my pet?

It will look like a companion of their breed, size and colouring, wearing what they wore in your photo, carrying their name — painted the way an illustrator would work from a photograph. It will not be a photo-perfect likeness of their face, and we won't pretend otherwise. Most families tell us what undoes them is seeing their collar, and their name on the little gold plate.

Why do you need a photo?

Two reasons: their colouring, and what they were wearing. A red collar, a worn tag, a bandana — those are the details that make the film theirs instead of a film about a dog. Your photo is used for this and nothing else. We don't publish it or show it anywhere unless we've asked you first and you've said yes.

How long is it, and what do I actually receive?

About fifteen seconds, as a vertical video file (MP4) sent to your email — the right shape for your phone, and for sharing if you'd like to. There's no watermark and no logo on it. It's yours.

What if it doesn't feel like them?

Then tell us, and we'll make it again — once, at no cost. If the second one still isn't right, we'll refund you in full and you keep both films. You've lost enough; you shouldn't lose $14.99 as well.

Can I ask for a cat, or another animal?

Yes. Cats, dogs, rabbits, and small companions of every kind. Send us their photo just the same.

Do I need a PayPal account?

No. On the PayPal window there's an option to pay with a debit or credit card without signing up for anything. If you'd rather not use PayPal at all, email us and we'll find another way.

Is this the same as the keepsake I saw?

No — they're two different things. The tribute film is a video, delivered within 48 hours. The CloudHaven keepsake is a physical handcrafted piece for your home, made and engraved to order. Some families begin with the film, and come back for the keepsake later.
